The Max Planck Insti­tute for the History of Sci­ence (MPIWG) seeks to employ a stu­dent assi­stant for Rese­arch Group Krause at the ear­liest pos­si­ble star­ting date

Work­ing field:

The stu­dent assi­stant will sup­port pro­ject mem­bers with the orga­ni­za­tion of sci­en­ti­fic events, will help with edi­to­rial work on sci­en­ti­fic texts (espe­ci­ally in Ger­man and Eng­lish), and assist in main­tai­ning and updating the group’s web­site, data­ba­ses, and digi­tal repo­si­to­ries.


App­li­cants must be in at least their third semes­ter of study at a uni­ver­sity in Ber­lin or Bran­den­burg. They must have com­mand of Ger­man and Eng­lish at an excel­lent level (C1 or above). The abi­lity to read Chi­nese, Greek, and/or Latin is con­si­de­red a strong advan­tage. App­li­cants should bring good working know­ledge of modern infor­ma­tion tech­no­logy and have the abi­lity to work both inde­pendently and in a team.

What we of­fer:

The Employ­ment Con­tract will initi­ally be limi­ted until 30 Sep­tem­ber 2020 with the pos­si­bi­lity of exten­sion. Wee­kly work hours may vary bet­ween 10 to 15 hours (nego­tia­ble); the salary is paid accord­ing to the rates for stu­dent employ­ment in the frame of the Max Planck Society’s pro­gram to sup­port junior sci­en­tists.
