Das Robert Koch-Insti­tut ist das Public-Health-Insti­tut für Deutsch­land. Unser Ziel ist es, die Bevöl­ke­rung vor Krank­hei­ten zu schüt­zen und ihren Gesund­heits­zu­stand zu ver­bes­sern. Daran arbei­ten und for­schen im RKI jeden Tag gemein­sam 1.100 Men­schen aus 90 ver­schie­de­nen Beru­fen.

Working field:

Stu­dent pos­i­tion(s) to sup­port the ‘Unit of Noso­co­mial Infec­tion and Sur­veil­lance of Anti­mi­cro­bial Res­ist­ance and Con­sump­tion’ in the area of data man­age­ment and ana­lysis

The inter­na­tional study team in the Unit of Noso­co­mial Infec­tion and Sur­veil­lance of Anti­mi­cro­bial Res­ist­ance and Con­sump­tion at Robert Koch Insti­tute is seek­ing stu­dent pos­i­tion can­did­ates to sup­port their pro­jects in the area of research/sur­veil­lance data man­age­ment and ana­lysis. Ongo­ing inter­na­tional research col­lab­or­a­tions include the fol­low­ing among oth­ers:
  • African Net­work for improved Dia­gnostics, Epi­demi­ology and Man­age­ment of Com­mon Infec­tious Agents: An infec­tious dis­ease sur­veil­lance net­work in Côte d'Ivoire, Burk­ina Faso, Demo­cratic Repub­lic of Congo, South Africa and Ger­many (
  • Anti­mi­cro­bial Res­ist­ance Global Sur­veil­lance: Research and tech­nical exchange with selec­ted coun­tries in the area of Anti­mi­cro­bial Res­ist­ance (
  • CORONA Global: An African-European col­lab­or­a­tion to assess trans­mis­sion of SARS-CoV-2 among health care work­ers
  • Nigerian Centre for Dis­ease Con­trol Capa­city Devel­op­ment for Pre­pared­ness and Response for Infec­tious Dis­eases: A sub-pro­ject of a col­lab­or­a­tion to sup­port national imple­ment­a­tion of anti­mi­cro­bial res­ist­ance sur­veil­lance and dia­gnostic stew­ard­ship (

Tasks: Data man­age­ment of sur­veil­lance or research data (e.g. import­ing data, recod­ing and reshap­ing as neces­sary, per­form­ing a range of qual­ity checks), descript­ive ana­lyses, uni­vari­ate/mul­tivari­ate regres­sion ana­lyses depend­ing on can­did­ate’s exper­i­ence


Edu­ca­tional back­ground: At least bach­el­ors degree in data sci­ence, stat­ist­ics, epi­demi­ology, psy­cho­logy or related field with exper­i­ence in data man­age­ment exper­i­ence

Stat­ist­ical pro­gramme pro­fi­ciency: At least inter­me­di­ate pro­fi­ciency in R
