RWTH Aachen - Computational Geoscience and Reservoir Engineering

You will be working in a diverse project team at the Computational Geoscience and Reservoir Engineering Group (CGRE) at RWTH Aachen University. Funded in 2017 and led by Prof. Florian Wellmann, CGRE is a growing institute located at the interface between the geosciences, computer science, engineering and mathematics.

In addition, we currently plan founding a start-up company in the second year of the project and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in this start-up.

VR/AR Frontend Software Developer (w/m/d)

Working field:

Combining the latest developments in geological modelling with Augmented Reality holographic technology, the goal of the FARMIN project is to create a spatially-aware collaborative solution
that allows professionals to visualize and interact with geological and geophysical data and models in the field. The in-situ holographic view of data and models offers a new level of immersion and reception with huge advantages for communication of very complex scenarios. Continuous ground-truthing, on-the-fly data integration and probabilistic machine learning approaches will help reduce geological uncertainty for improved decision making. You will be in charge of front-end pipeline, this includes for instance: (i) managing the client side of the solution, (ii) UI design and development, (iii) rendering fidelity and (iv)multi-devices optimizations.
