The depart­ment "Design­ing and Engin­eer­ing - Com­pos­ite Struc­tures" researches and teaches at the Insti­tute of Civil Engin­eer­ing of the TU Ber­lin. Research focuses on hybrid con­struc­tion with tim­ber, con­crete, steel and FRP.

Work­ing field:

Col­lab­or­a­tion in cross-mater­ial research on struc­tural engin­eer­ing. Research with plan­ning, imple­ment­a­tion and eval­u­ation of the­or­et­ical and exper­i­mental invest­ig­a­tions on wood-con­crete com­pos­ite labs. Research work on the integ­ral pro­duc­tion of the sup­port­ing struc­ture, MEP and tech­nical expan­sion in close cooper­a­tion with the indus­trial pro­ject part­ners. The res­ults must be eval­u­ated sci­en­tific­ally and presen­ted in a Ger­man-lan­guage report and in sci­entific pub­lic­a­tions. Col­lab­or­a­tion in the organ­iz­a­tion and admin­is­tra­tion of R & D activ­it­ies and sub­ject area. Super­vi­sion of theses and guid­ance of stu­dent assist­ants. Pre­par­ing a PhD thesis on the basis of the pro­ject res­ults is pos­sible.


Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in the field of civil engin­eer­ing; in-depth know­ledge in struc­tural engin­eer­ing with a focus on tim­ber con­struc­tion or con­crete struc­tures.
Also desir­able are: interest in inter­dis­cip­lin­ary work in the fields of civil engin­eer­ing and archi­tec­ture as well as the adja­cent tech­nical sci­ences; above-aver­age com­mit­ment to car­ry­ing out research tasks; inde­pend­ent sci­entific method of work­ing; col­lab­or­a­tion in the organ­iz­a­tion and admin­is­tra­tion of the Depart­ment of Com­pos­ite Struc­tures; strong com­mu­nic­a­tion and team skills; prob­lem-solv­ing think­ing.

Good Eng­lish lan­guage skills are desired; work­ing lan­guage intern­ally and extern­ally is Ger­man.
