The TU Dres­den is one of ele­ven Ger­man uni­ver­si­ties that were iden­ti­fied as an “excel­lence uni­ver­sity”. TUD has about 36.500 stu­dents and almost 5319 employees, 507 pro­fes­sors among them, and, thus, is the lar­gest uni­ver­sity in Sax­ony, today.

Having been com­mit­ted to sci­en­ces and the engi­nee­ring before the reuni­fi­ca­tion of Ger­many, TU Dres­den now is a multi-disci­pline uni­ver­sity, also offe­ring huma­nities and social sci­en­ces as well as medi­cine.

Rese­arch Asso­ciate (m/f/x)

(sub­ject to per­so­nal qua­li­fi­ca­tion employees are remu­ne­ra­ted accord­ing to salary group E 13 TV-L)

The pro­ject posi­tion is star­ting as soon as pos­si­ble. The posi­tion is limi­ted until May 31, 2023 with the option of exten­sion wit­hin sub­se­quent third-party fun­ded pro­jects. The period of employ­ment is gover­ned by § 2 (2) Fixed-Term Rese­arch Con­tracts Act (Wis­sen­schafts­zeit­ver­trags­ge­setz).
The Chair of Sys­tems Engi­nee­ring is con­duc­ting rese­arch in a "Con­fi­den­tial com­pu­ting coope­ra­tion pro­ject" with Hua­wei Tech­no­lo­gies Düs­sel­dorf GmbH.

Working field:

rese­arch in the field of the chair, espe­ci­ally in the field of cloud com­pu­ting and con­fi­den­tial com­pu­ting. In this con­text, the main rese­arch areas include the deve­lop­ment of a con­fi­den­tial com­pu­ting plat­form. The deve­lop­ment, publi­ca­tion and pre­sen­ta­tion of sci­en­ti­fic publi­ca­ti­ons at natio­nal and inter­na­tio­nal con­fe­ren­ces as well as jour­nals are expec­ted.

Requirements:

very good uni­ver­sity degree (M.Sc., Dipl.) in Com­pu­ter Sci­ence; strong skills in dis­tri­bu­ted sys­tems and secu­rity; abi­lity to work inde­pendently and pur­po­se­fully in a team; an inte­gra­tive and coope­ra­tive per­so­na­lity with excel­lent com­mu­ni­ca­tion and social skills; high enga­ge­ment; flu­ency in Eng­lish - writ­ten and oral; inte­rest in inter­di­sci­pli­nary coope­ra­tion in all areas of com­pu­ter sci­ence as well as with indus­trial part­ners. We search for a per­so­na­lity having prac­ti­cal expe­ri­en­ces with various pro­gramming lan­guages and con­cepts.
