For the project “Green Vision Central Asia: Bridging science and capacity building for safer future - Integrated water resources management strategies across competing sectors and transboundary dialogue in Central Asia under climate change”, PIK is offering a position as a
Student assistant with Bachelor degree (m/f/d)
(Position number: 18-2022-SHK Green Vision)
The position is funded until 31 December 2022 with the option of extension. The remuneration is calculated according to the requirements of the TdL. The current hourly rate for a student assistant with a Bachelor's degree is 12.37€ . A working time of 10 hours/week is planned.
Key responsibilities:
Implementation of visualisation techniques with d3js and Python of climate and climate impact data.
Data preparation in ASCII and NetCDF format for the KlimafolgenOnline web portal.
Further development of the web portal KlimafolgenOnline and integration of visualisation techniques.
Requirements:
You are an enrolled master student in the field of Computer Science or Natural Science and you have the following qualifications
Programming experience with JavaScript and Python
Programming experience with d3js, C++, C#, Unix shell programming, NetCDF (optional)
Web design (optional)
GIS systems such as ArcGis or QGis (optional)
Experience with the development of visualisation techniques (optional)
Knowledge of Russian, Tajik, Uzbek, Turkmen or Kyrgyz language (optional)
