Working field:

At the Department of Methods of Product Development and Mechatronics, you will be involved in research in the areas of additive manufacturing and the development of mechatronic systems. For this purpose Extensive laboratory equipment is available. The department is active in various networks, including the Werner von Siemens Centre for Industry and Science (WvSC), and conducts research in numerous collaborative projects with partners from industry. You will present your research projectsat national and international conferences, trade fairs and workshops. Furthermore you will instructstudent employees.

In teaching, you will convey the current state of the art to students in the modules integrative product development, simulation of mechatronic systems as well as CAD in automotive engineering and transfer your acquired knowledge from research directly into current teaching content.

In addition, you will support the department in the area of IT and network administration.

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed scientific university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in mechanical engineering or similar
  • Very good knowledge in the fields of design and development of mechatronic products
  • Previous teaching experience (design and mechatronics)
  • Previous experience in the design of 3D-printed components
  • Previous experience in product development, including concept, prototyping and testing
  • Willingness and capability to acquire the knowledge for administration and management of the IT infrastructure of the department
  • Previous experience in the preparation of scientific publications
  • Excellent German and English oral and written communication skills
