Research Assist­ant - salary grade E13 TV-L Ber­liner Hoch­schu­len - 1st qual­i­fic­a­tion period (PhD can­did­ate)

The depart­ment "Design­ing and Engin­eer­ing - Com­pos­ite Struc­tures" researches and teaches at the Insti­tute of Civil Engin­eer­ing of the TU Ber­lin. Research focuses on hybrid con­struc­tion with tim­ber, con­crete, steel and FRP.

Work­ing field:

  • Super­vi­sion of Bach­elor's degree courses in Civil Engin­eer­ing (eg basic pro­ject)
  • Super­vi­sion of courses of the Mas­ter pro­gram civil engin­eer­ing (for example build­ing con­struc­tion II, sur­face struc­tures I, design sem­inar and col­loquia)
  • Exe­cu­tion of exer­cises and courses, as well as the super­vi­sion of Bach­elor, Mas­ter and study papers
  • Plan­ning and exe­cu­tion of (inter­na­tional) excur­sions
  • Col­lab­or­a­tion in research and admin­is­tra­tion (super­vi­sion and guid­ance of stu­dent employ­ees)
  • Research in the field of struc­tural engin­eer­ing with a focus on hybrid con­struc­tions with con­crete
  • Organ­iz­a­tion and admin­is­tra­tion of the teach­ing com­pany

Require­ments:

Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in the field of civil engin­eer­ing with in-depth know­ledge in struc­tural engin­eer­ing is required. Very good know­ledge of Ger­man is neces­sary for the unob­struc­ted, tech­nical lan­guage cor­rect teach­ing.
Desired: above-aver­age com­mit­ment to teach­ing and research; inde­pend­ent sci­entific method of work­ing; strong com­mu­nic­a­tion and team skills; prob­lem-solv­ing think­ing and, fur­ther­more, interest in inter­dis­cip­lin­ary work in the fields of con­struc­tion and archi­tec­ture as well as related tech­nical sci­ences.
Good Eng­lish lan­guage skills are desired.
