In order to increase the per­cent­age of women among pro­fess­ors the Tech­nis­che Uni­ver­si­tät Ber­lin - Fac­ulty III - Pro­cess Sci­ences - Insti­tute of Pro­cess and Chem­ical Engin­eer­ing offers a pos­i­tion of a

Uni­ver­sity Pro­fess­or­ship - salary grade W3

for the chair of "Con­trol Engin­eer­ing".

Work­ing field:

The rese­arch pro­file should be in the field of mod­el­ing, model-based and data-based sys­tem ana­lysis, robust and optim­iz­a­tion-based con­trol and super­vi­sion of pro­ces­ses. In the frame­work of exper­i­men­tal and the­or­et­ical rese­arch activ­it­ies spe­cial empha­sis should be dir­ec­ted towards app­lic­a­tions in pro­cess engin­eer­ing, e.g., chem­ical, bio­chem­ical, energy or food engin­eer­ing sci­ence. Addi­tio­nal areas of app­lic­a­tion, such as con­trol of pro­ces­ses for con­ver­sion of renew­able res­sour­ces or com­bus­tion and flow con­trol are desi­red.
In teach­ing, con­trol cour­ses must be pro­vi­ded for under­gradu­ate and mas­ter stu­dents of sev­eral degree pro­gram­mes. App­lic­ants must be able to con­duct their lec­tures in Eng­lish and, after a learn­ing period, as well in Ger­man.


Can­did­ates should ful­fill the require­ments for appoint­ment at the pro­fes­sor level in com­pli­ance with § 100 Ber­lHG (Ber­lin Hig­her Edu­ca­tion Act) [inform­a­tion sheet avail­able by request], includ­ing a fin­ished aca­demic edu­ca­tion, qual­i­fied achieve­ments in rese­arch (PhD), post-doc­toral lec­ture qual­i­fic­a­tion (Habil­it­a­tion) or equi­val­ent qual­i­fic­a­tion (e.g., doc­u­men­ted by qual­ity of sci­ent­i­fic papers) and ped­ago­gical didac­tic qual­i­fic­a­tions, to be given proof of by a teach­ing port­fo­lio (for more inform­a­tion see TUB web­site, quick access no. 144242).
Exper­i­ence in teach­ing and rese­arch includ­ing human resource man­age­ment in the area of clo­sed-loop con­trol and met­ro­logy as well as in acquis­i­tion and man­aging of pro­jects in a res­pons­ible pos­i­tion is expec­ted. Exper­i­ence in the work in inter­dis­cip­lin­ary teams as well as inter­na­tio­nal exper­i­ence is desi­red.
